I finished my first week of training and it was.....surprisingly hard.
Not because of the miles, I normally do more, but using my old shoes...humidity...and just not being prepared lead to a bad week.
My week was a total of 15 miles. 3 back to back 3 miles, 2 rest days, one 6 mile and one 60 min cardio cross training which I did on the step mill.
We finally got a foam roller but I had such bad shin splints this week I had a moment of panic as my calves felt like they would burst and walking brought no relief.
I've dealt with this shin pain before and I know how to deal w it! We ordered my new shoes today :)
As I go into week 2 I feel a million times more confident. I'm meal prepping again (I'll do a huge post on that!) and having a bad run doesn't scare me.
Bring it on week 2!!!!
