Mike and I are looking in the Troy and Rochester area in Michigan to move since he will be interning in Pontiac. And just browsing Michigan running clubs I found a fun one called Your Pace Or Mine YPOM. It's all running levels friendly (no fear of being a club where everyone averages a 8 or less min pace!) and they have fun weekly bar meets as well, so they seem pretty laid back!
I mostly just want to find a group where I can experience Michigan and find a bib addict like myself and do a bunch of races and not be afraid of being alone!
I'll check out this running club and ask around!! Twitter always seems eager to help people out!
I also want to look into the Lululemon running meets and yoga as well! (I kinda want to get a part-time job there if school isn't too crazy)
Snagged this article from Runner's World. Thought it might come in handy for Oregon/Michigan.
I've ran in the rain before (not heavy) and the main thing I dealt with was soaked socks/shoes. When I got home after the race and took my shoes off my feet where prunes and very pale! Gross.
So here are some tips!

Browsing around the Michigan racing site I saw...SNOWSHOE racing!
I didn't even know this existed and buy am I excited!
I don't think this is in Oregon, but I would love to try one! Maybe like a 5K or 10K.
Michigan is looking to be like one fun state!
It seems very beginner friendly as well!
I also found a good running club...called Your Pace or Mine in the Rochester Hills. They do weekly fun runs and meet for a social hour at a bar and from the race pictures online it looks like they have allot of fun dressing up.
I like that they say on the website that none of there member will win a race but hey all have fun!
That's my kind of team haha
I'm nervous about joining a running club that's much more competitive than I am, I don't want to feel in over my head or not good enough!
Steven Miller posted on the Disney Parks blog the Tower of Terror Run Disney swag for 2013! I wish I was going so bad so instead i'll just drool over these products and everyone's posts on every social medial site...
If Mike and I don't end up in Florida I think I will try and still do the Glass Slipper Challenge maybe with Brandi...hopefully I can meet someone who wants to do these events w me and we can split the costs! But I can only afford like 1 race a year...It's either the princess on or the Dopey challenge...
