Kinda bummed I forgot to check up on this because I would probably do the half! Ah well, I'm already doing 2 other Halfs at home so I shouldn't complain. But I've never cheered people on! So that's what I'll be doing Sunday morning the day after we fly home from Florida! I don't know if anyone I know is running this...but they give out cow bells for people who are cheering so maybe ill snag one!

I can't believe the Dopey Challenge for 2014 is already sold out!
The Goofy challenge still has much room about 55% full today but wow! I guess they didn't have many spots open. The full marathon is 51% as if today and the half is 62%. I plan on doing 2 halfs in Feb so that's why I haven't really put much thought into this one. I would like this to be my first full but in 2015. So sorry everyone planning on the Dopey!!! I'm still waiting on the Princess half to open registration and I don't know if well do the Wine n Dine half this year... I watched the live event of The Boston Marathon and the women where amazing!!! I was totally rooting for Shalane Flanagan wanting the USA to win and oh man did she put up a good fight! Running in first place until after heart break hill then finishing fourth and Rita Jeptoo one first. That's what I want to remember the Boston 2013 for, those that qualified, ran, and even if they couldn't finish due to the bombing they are all winners to us all. We will run stronger now than ever and next year at the Boston it's going to be an amazing event.
Today is the Boston Marathon!!! I have been reading people's posts on Runners World and Facebook about tips to prep and practice and its just awesome!!! And on Insta gram I have been spamming it with liking these strangers pictures haha! I hope to someday qualify and maybe run it but the temperature of this sun scares me!!! But congratulations!!!!
Saw this book on Runners World, the respect for this writer and runner is impressive. Written by Dr. George Sheehan, his collection of writing about running is going to be a goal of mine to go through them all, besides this book he has written 7 other books. This book was originally published in 1978. What caught me about this book is how educated this man is, and I wouldn't expect anything less coming from a Dr., he relates to various other writing artists using quotes from them to back-up his points. He makes sense of running, as I read this I find myself agreeing with him "yes! that's why I run to!" and disagree when he writes on topics about calling distance running as a selfish sport and how basically he relies on others to help him in his day and strict running schedule. As a female who does everything for me and my man and still finds time to run...I don't agree. I would love it if I had my clothes cleaned and prepared for my run and meals prepped!! wow!!
I found what he writes on Dr. William Sheldon about how mankind is divided into 3 races as informative and also frustrating. Quoting this man on how people are genetically created to be certain things and by realizing that you can live life to its fullest in your designated group. So someone in the athletic race the muscular mesomorphs can't become a talker or thinker? Something in me just rises up against all this grouping and yells "you can't tell me what i can and can't do!!!" But what I do really enjoy about his book is how he explains how the body naturally can be this or that, hoe our bodies are naturally born to be active. He makes sense of why diet and why give-up drinking and smoking and bad foods, that you don't quit smoking to run but you run and then quit smoking to run more. How to be a better thinker your body also needs to be better and to never trust a thought sitting down. I love that line and completely agree with it, when i'm running my mind is at it's best. it seems to detox itself of all the little and big worries and stresses that give me headaches and make me go crazy. How many times do you find yourself cleaning and moving and at the same time your mind is going a mile a minute. If you are looking for a book about running to make you think, make you mad and want to argue and then instantly be shut-up and proven wrong while gaining respect for a man you don't know, who wouldn't want to know you, but you want to know him. Then read this book. I really do recommend it! It's a nice break from allot of other books on running that can be redundant in context. As i'm training for my runs this summer I can't help but to already think about future races and I haven't even finished one this year!
I have a serious addiction problem... The promise of living in Florida for 2 years starting this Sept. keeps looming above my head all I could care less about where we live, our apartment, how we will get stuff here, a job....all that is in my head is 'how can we become residents so we can get s Disneyworld pass?' and 'DISNEY RUNS!!!!' Right now going back to school in that same month isn't even a worry or threat (i hate school), as long as we're here and I can do Disney Runs! I think it will be my goal to do as many Disney one's as I can... I have already started to eye the Princess Half in February since that's my Birthday month...hint hint. I've already told my good friend Brandi, who is a Disney Runner, to start thinking of saving money for this! And thinking about what i'm going to dress up as...something Princess of course! I'm so excited about this it's insane! This issue is just great for those of us female runners that think about what they are going to do when they are pregnant. I have worked so hard to get where I'm at in my running life and I don't event want to think about how being pregnant will stop me from enjoying my fitness life.
This magazine has offered some really get tips on it but when you're in that situation I guess that's the only way to tell but I will for sure keep this magazine close to me and join a mothers running group! Having other people, who I don't personally know, say things about how I'm doing good in this running world makes me so happy!
